Job Summary
Torborgs Lumber is looking for a sales associate to join our team. You would work with our team at the service desk to assist customers with buying lumber and other building and home products.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for purchases
- Maintain merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked, organized, and appealing to shoppers
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in person with patience and clarity
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and supporting store resets
- Help customers load their vehicles with their purchases, including lumber, concrete, and other heavy materials.
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience or familiarity with lumber and building products desired but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail to ensure customers are being charged correctly.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, cashiering, and retail math is highly desirable
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle inquiries professionally
