Quality Engineer - Syrup

Torani (R. Torre & Co.)
San Leandro, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 6/3/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 7/2/2026
At Torani, we’re continuing our journey toward the $1 Billion vision and we’re looking for team members who want to help build what’s next. As we scale our syrup operations, the strength of our quality systems and the people who bring them to life will be critical to delivering consistent, safe, high-quality flavor every time.

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to support and strengthen the execution of quality systems within our syrup operation. In this role, you’ll develop a deep understanding of our processes, products, and quality expectations, and work closely with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure those expectations hold up in the realities of daily production. You’ll play an active role in investigating issues, analyzing data, and helping translate quality standards into clear, practical execution all while building your capability to think critically about how and why things work.

At Torani, a Certified B Corporation, we flavor more than just drinks we flavor lives. You’ll join a people-first, purpose-driven team where you’ll be challenged to grow your technical skills, strengthen your operational thinking, and contribute to continuous improvement in meaningful ways.

Success Factors (First 12–24 Months)

  • Quality Systems & Syrup Operations Support: You developed a strong working understanding of Torani’s syrup processes and quality systems, becoming a reliable resource in their day-to-day execution. You ensured quality checks, documentation, and controls were followed consistently and aligned with operational realities. As your understanding grew, you began to recognize where processes could be clearer, more efficient, or more robust. With this knowledge gained through experience you contribute ideas and support implementing improvements that make quality easier to execute on the floor.
  • Investigator & Developing Problem Solver: You actively supported investigations into quality incidents, customer complaints, and environmental monitoring events, developing your ability to connect data, observations, and process conditions. Working alongside more experienced team members, you strengthened your root cause thinking and moved beyond symptoms to understand underlying drivers. Over time, you took on more ownership in investigations, helping ensure issues were thoroughly understood and corrective actions were practical, effective, and sustained.
  • Operational Quality Partner: You built strong working relationships with Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams by staying close to the floor and understanding how work gets done. By reinforcing quality expectations in a way that made sense to operators and technicians, you helped improve consistency and reduce friction in daily execution. You supported tools such as RedZone quality checks and helped ensure they were used effectively.
  • Data, Insight & Continuous Improvement Contributor: You used data not just to report what happened, but to begin understanding why it happened. Through analysis of quality metrics, process trends, and observations, you identified patterns and supported improvement efforts across the operation. You participated in operational excellence initiatives and continuous improvement activities, bringing curiosity and a willingness to challenge assumptions. Your contributions helped strengthen decision-making and reinforce a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Capability Builder & Quality Advocate: You played an active role in reinforcing quality expectations across the team by supporting technicians and operators in their day-to-day work. Through clear communication, hands-on support, and a willingness to engage, you helped others better understand quality standards and how to apply them. As your confidence grew, you helped build consistency, strengthen critical thinking, and increase shared ownership of quality outcomes across the cross functional team.
  • You Make Work More Fun: Whether it’s your attitude, humor, or energy – you bring a little extra brightness to every day.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related field preferred)
  • 2–4 years of experience in food manufacturing, quality, or related technical roles

  • Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for data tracking and analysis
  • Comfortable working on the production floor in a fast-paced environment
