Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks with precision and care
- Process retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems like Toast POS
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments efficiently while balancing registers at shift end
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders, and provide personalized beverage and food recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling, equipment sanitation, and general tidiness
- Follow food safety standards and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and hygiene
- Assist in food preparation tasks when needed, including assembling beverages and light food items
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly and efficiently
Skills
- Experience with coffee making and beverage service in a café or food industry setting
- Proficiency in POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for retail sales transactions
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and process payments swiftly
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Basic math skills for cash handling, change calculation, and transaction processing
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
