We are seeking an experienced Floor Manager & Sommelier to become one of the leaders of our dining room. This hybrid role combines hands-on service leadership with ownership of our wine program, making it ideal for someone who loves both managing people and sharing their passion for wine.
About Topsoil
Topsoil is a Michelin Guide Recommended restaurant located in the heart of Travelers Rest, South Carolina just 10 miles from Greenville SC. Our menus celebrate seasonal ingredients, many grown in our own culinary garden at the restaurant, and are complemented by an evolving wine program focused on sustainability, discovery, and hospitality.
This is a full-time leadership position with a consistent five-day work week and two days off each week.
What You'll Do
- Lead nightly dining room operations and support an exceptional guest experience.
- Work alongside the General Manager to coach, mentor, and inspire the service team.
- Guide guests through thoughtful wine selections and food pairings.
- Curate and maintain our wine list.
- Manage wine purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Conduct regular wine education and service training for staff.
- Collaborate with our culinary team on seasonal menus, pairings, and special events.
- Help drive beverage sales while maintaining an approachable, guest-first style.
- Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and warmth.
- Foster a positive culture built on teamwork, accountability, and hospitality.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has previous management experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant.
- Possesses strong wine knowledge (CMS, WSET, or equivalent experience preferred).
- Enjoys coaching and developing people.
- Leads by example and thrives on the restaurant floor.
- Is organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
- Believes genuine hospitality is the foundation of every great dining experience.
