Seasonal Store Lead

Reports to: Marina Store Manager

Rock Creek Marina is seeking a responsible individual to work at our marina store two Saturdays a month through the summer. These would be 12 hour shifts. The Seasonal Store Lead is responsible for being at the cash register and processing cash, debit, and credit transactions. They will over see our seasonal store clerks and assist with any issues. They are the face of the store and must greet customers in a friendly manner and address any questions customers might have in the most helpful way possible. Since cash is involved, clerks need to have a sense of responsibility and integrity while doing their job. This person will also assist with dock duties when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Open and close the store on business days as assigned by the Marina Store Manager
2. Oversee store operation and employees when manager is not present
3. Greet customers and offer assistance with products and services
4. Check out customers with hospitality and friendliness
5. Take phone calls and assist customers with their questions and concerns
6. Maintain the marina slip waitlist
7. Organize merchandise, marketing materials, cash register counter, end stands, display tables, and promotional space, etc.
8. Clean the windows, doors, counters, and coffee service, if applicable
9. Vacuum the store every day after closing
10. Maintain an awareness of and comply with any applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and fresh food
11. Maintain a professional relationship with all vendors, management, co-workers, and customers
12. Ensure adherence to departmental and / or operations policies, procedures, and practices
13. Assist with duties on the dock as needed (assisting customers with rental boats, fuelding boats, etc).
14. Perform such duties as assigned by the Marina Store Manager and management

Minimum Qualifications and Requirement:

1. Must be at least 21 years old
2. Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
3. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility
4. Prior supervisory experience in a retail setting preferred but not required
5. Demonstrate ability to perform efficient and correct calculations
6. Previous experience as a cash register preferred
7. Maintain a pleasant demeanor and ability to get along with customers and co-workers
8. Ability to problem-solve when attending to customer needs and complaints
9. Ability to clearly communicate with management and co-workers
10. Must have strong organizational skills
