Pay Rate Starting at: Level $12.00/ hr Rates of pay are determined by previous experience and labor contract seniority.
SUMMARY
The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. Captain Choice clerk is responsible for the handling of seafood products. Clerk must possess full knowledge of product including location. Clerk will prepare, weigh, wrap, price, and label all seafood products, as well as stocking shelves and maintaining a clean work area. Clerk is responsible for setting an example in providing attentive and courteous customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide attentive and courteous customer service by fulfilling customer requests for seafood products and answering customer questions
- Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations involving seafood as well as company policies regarding operations, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain proper shelf, case and display conditions, including stocking, cleaning, straightening, and rotating product
- Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
- Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product
- Ensure proper temperatures are maintained in cooler, prep area, freezer, lobster tanks, and cases and are in working condition
- Take direction from the Captain Choice Manager and ASM, fulfill tasks as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years of age. If department is located inside the meat room the associate must be at least 18 years of age.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
- Possess basic computer skills
- Possess strong communication skills
