Position: Pre-Make Ready

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Either Third shift 11pm-7am or Second 3pm-11pm

Reporting directly to the Department Supervisor as a Press Make Ready technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and setting up parts for presses in a quick and safe manner.

Essential Functions

• Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
• Preparing printing press parts by cleaning, wiping, and washing parts
• Pulling, sorting, and placing materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
• Opening bales, crates, and other containers
• Having the ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations.
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitoring and reporting quality of manufactured product.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
• Performing all duties in support of Toppan's quality and safety policies.
• Helping other departments as needed
• Wearing proper PPE

Qualifications

• We expect you to be Toppan mission driven.
• Previous experience in packing/warehousing is extremely helpful.
• You must have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
• To succeed in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
• You need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
• Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.
• You will need to be able to lift to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
• You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• You will need to be able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.
• You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.

Required Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors in a manufacturing setting with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise and moving machines/equipment.

MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME AND WEEKEND SHIFTS AS NEEDED.

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF CERTIFICATION TEST IS REQUIRED WITHIN 90 DAYS OF HIRE.
