Position: Print Press Operator III

Location: Hickory

Shift: Night Shift | 12-hour rotating schedule (2-2-3 schedule if applicable)

Pay Rate: $34.03/hour $2.00/hour night shift differential

Summary Description

The Print Press Operator III is a highly skilled press role responsible for full press operation, print quality, production output, troubleshooting, and advanced press setup. This position supports efficient production while maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate and oversee full press production from setup through completion
• Meet and exceed production and waste targets
• Perform advanced print job setup including plates, sleeves, inks, anilox rolls, and film verification
• Maintain print quality including registration, color consistency, copy accuracy, and impression control
• Troubleshoot print defects and machine performance issues
• Direct and support Press Assistants during production
• Train less experienced operators and assistants
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation
• Verify work orders, specifications, and quality requirements
• Monitor web systems, tension settings, and substrate adjustments
• Coordinate with maintenance when machine issues arise
• Return materials and tooling properly after each order
• Support continuous improvement and efficiency efforts
  
  

We’d Love to Hear From You If

• You have advanced flexographic printing experience
• You have experience running multi-color web-fed printing presses
• You understand inks, color matching, film properties, and print registration
• You can read and interpret work orders, artwork, and specifications
• You have strong troubleshooting ability in print quality and machine setup
• You can lead others and support training on shift
• You understand production quality standards and press capabilities
• Prior high-level operator certification or equivalent experience is strongly preferred
