Summary Description
While reporting directly to the Shift Lead, the Packer I is responsible for supporting production within the Thermoforming department by packing finished goods, monitoring quality, handling reclaim material, and ensuring production requirements are met safely and accurately.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Verify job orders to determine correct box quantity and corrugated size for each production run
- Confirm all required materials are staged and ready for packing
- Position and mark reclaim carts according to reclaim guidelines during production
- Visually inspect product for defects to ensure quality standards are met
- Pack finished goods according to customer specifications
- Set scales for first full box and monitor weights during production
- Label, seal, and palletize finished boxes
- Complete production documentation accurately and on time
- Ensure machine guarding is in place for safe operation
- Rotate and replace reclaim carts, pallets, and finished goods as needed
- Remove scrap from machines and place into designated reclaim carts
- Monitor reclaim quality according to reclaim procedures
- Perform daily housekeeping to keep work area clean and free of debris
- You can speak, read, and write English
- Prior packing experience is preferred
- You can follow written and verbal instructions
- You can operate a pallet jack
- You are dependable and reliable
