Job Summary
Topo Designs is looking for an in-house UGC Content Creator to make the scroll-stopping, phone-shot content that sells our bags and apparel. Think travel pack-outs, airport carry-on tests, fit checks and product deep dives.
You'll concept, shoot, edit and iterate short-form video and photo built for performance. Paid social is your first customer: you'll work with our Senior Paid Media Manager to turn ad data into new hooks, angles and variations, then do it again next week. You'll also feed our organic channels through briefs from the Social & Community Manager.
Experience & Education Requirements
● 3 years creating short-form video content, with a portfolio of UGC-style work
● Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
● Proven experience making content for paid social (Meta, TikTok), with results you can point to
● Working knowledge of how creative drives hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CVR, CPA and ROAS
● Strong editing skills in CapCut, Edits, Premiere, Final Cut or similar
● Comfortable shooting on your own, phone-first, and on camera when needed
● DTC ecommerce experience preferred; outdoor, travel, bags or apparel strongly preferred
Skills & Qualifications
● Hooks and angles: Can turn one product brief into 5-10 distinct concepts
● Native editing: Edits for each platform's format, pacing, captions and sound
● Test-and-learn mindset: Reads performance data, kills losers fast, scales winners
● On-camera ease: Natural in front of the lens, and good at directing friends, staff and customers
● Product storytelling: Makes features (pockets, materials, carry-on fit) feel useful and real
● Organization: Keeps a clean, tagged content library and version tracking
● Speed: Ships multiple finished assets every week without losing quality
Key Responsibilities
Paid social creative (about 70% of time)
● Create UGC-style, testimonial, product demo and lifestyle content for Meta, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube ads
● Produce multiple variations of each concept to test hooks, angles, messaging and CTAs
● Partner with the Senior Paid Media Manager on a weekly test plan and read results together
● Iterate fast on winning formats and build repeatable, scalable templates
● Optimize every asset for hook rate, hold rate, CTR and conversion
Organic content (about 30% of time)
● Create posts, reels and stories from briefs written by the Social Media & Community Manager
● Capture behind-the-scenes, team and product drop content
● Direct and shoot phone-style content at all lifestyle and studio photoshoots for behind the scenes, fit check and brand storytelling content with on-set talent.
Content operations
● Maintain an organized, searchable content library with version tracking
● Coordinate with the creative team so UGC-style work complements brand campaign content
● Stay current on platform trends, creator best practices and new ad formats
