Role Overview
We are seeking skilled and reliable Commercial Roofing Technicians to join our team. Unlike standard roofing roles, this position requires a "jack-of-all-trades" expertise. You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of roofing systems, ranging from large-scale flat industrial roofs to steep-slope shingle and metal commercial structures.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of performing high-quality "leak-find" diagnostics and permanent repairs.
Primary Responsibilities
- To repair any roofing systems per specs safely within the budget, coordinate & manage all phases.
- Assure that our clients needs are effectively and efficiently addressed.
- Flat Roof Systems: Install and repair TPO, PVC, and mod-bit membranes, including heat-welding, seam priming, and cover tape applications.
- Steep Slope Systems: Expertly install and repair architectural shingles and metal roofing panels (R-Panel, Standing Seam) on commercial properties.
- Diagnostics: Conduct thorough roof inspections to identify the source of leaks and provide long-term repair solutions rather than "band-aid" fixes.
- Fabrication: Perform basic sheet metal work, including the installation of gravel stops, drip edges, rake trim, and counter-flashing.
- Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance (cleaning drains/scuppers, resealing sealant pockets, and checking penetrations).
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a strict adherence to OSHA safety standards, including the proper use of fall protection (harnesses/anchors) and ladder safety.
- Train team members
- Maintain a positive attitude and appropriate attire.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Multi-System Knowledge: Proven experience with TPO (Single-ply), Metal roofing and Asphalt Shingles is needed. Experience with Built-up Roofing (BUR) or Modified Bitumen is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment like hot-air heat welders and power tools.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb tall ladders, and work in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold) for extended periods.
- Documentation: Basic digital literacy to take "before and after" photos and document work orders on a tablet or smartphone.
- Professionalism: Must be able to interact professionally with property managers and business owners while on the job site.
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years in commercial roofing.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (required for certain job sites).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is highly preferred (will provide training for the right candidate).
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
