Lead Horticulturist

Position Overview: As the Lead Horticulturist, you will oversee and coordinate the horticulture team, ensuring high-quality maintenance and care for a variety of landscapes. You'll play a critical role in planning, executing, and managing gardening projects while mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of gardeners in daily tasks including planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and general landscape maintenance
- Plan, design, and implement landscaping projects according to client specifications and seasonal requirements
- Conduct regular assessments of garden health and implement pest and disease management strategies
- Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and provide expert advice on plant selection and garden care
- Train and mentor gardening team members in best practices, techniques, and safety procedures
- Manage schedules, workflows, and project timelines to ensure efficient operations
- Stay current on horticultural trends, techniques, and sustainable practices
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a gardener, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong knowledge of plant species, horticulture practices, and landscape design principles
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
