Position Overview:
This is a hybrid role for someone who can move seamlessly between the computer and the shop floor. You’ll be responsible for creating and modifying drawings, programming CNC equipment, and getting hands-on to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- Draw it
- Program it
- Then go out in the shop and help make it
If you only want to sit at a computer, this isn’t for you. If you only want to push buttons, this isn’t for you either.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify drawings/models for custom parts
- Program CNC machines (waterjet, plasma, laser, etc.)
- Set up and assist with machine operation as needed
- Work closely with shop team to troubleshoot and improve processes
- Review prints and customer specs to ensure accuracy and feasibility
- Optimize programs for efficiency and material usage
- Maintain organization of files, programs, and job documentation
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- CNC programming experience
- Understanding of machining processes and materials
- Willingness to be hands-on in the shop—not just behind a desk
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple custom jobs at once
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Bonus Points For:
- Experience in a custom or job shop environment
- Setup and operation experience on CNC equipment
- Familiarity with G-code and machine troubleshooting
