HOURLY RATE: $18.50 – $24.00

The Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shift Cleaner to join our sanitation team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Shift Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards. Duties include cleaning production areas, operating industrial dishwashing equipment, restocking hygiene stations, and safely handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
This position is best suited to someone who is familiar with a production/manufacturing environment, enjoys cleaning, and who can work independently.
What Success Look Like
- Clean production areas consistently to GMP standards.
- Accurate and timely completion of sanitation records.
- Proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Safety hazards and maintenance issues are reported promptly.
Responsibilities:
Sanitation & Cleaning
- Perform general and detailed cleaning of production areas, including floors, walls, and surfaces, to GMP standards.
- Operate an industrial sized dishwasher for cleaning production tools.
- Work with chemicals and solvents, as well as a variety of specialized tools (floor scrubbers, scrapers, pressure washers, brushes, etc.) to complete specific cleaning tasks.
- Able to properly handle detergents, sanitizers, and/or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Follow proper procedures for cleaning in food-safe and GMP-regulated zones, including correct use of PPE and sanitation chemicals.
- Replenish handwashing stations, including hand soap, sanitation, paper towels, and production PPE (hair nets, beard nets, shoe covers, and ear plugs).
- Replenish the sanitizer and maintain cleanliness of foot bathmats.
- Disposal of waste in accordance with site procedures.
- Work independently or as part of a team to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met or exceeded.
Documentation
- Complete sanitation records and checklists accurately and on time.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and/or supply shortages to Supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cleaning or sanitation experience in manufacturing, food production, or GMP environment is a strong asset.
Competencies
- Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe workplace.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work shift work.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and complete sanitation logs in English, and effective oral communication skills in English are required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Stand or walk for an extended period on a hard surface.
- Bend, push, pull, twist, and climb stairs.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Be present in manufacturing environment which can be noisy, hot, cold and require PPE.
