Description: Manages all operations including handling money, conducting hiring interviews, counseling employees, training, creating work schedules, completing employee performance evaluations, cooking, prepping, cleaning, record keeping, planning and all duties as required.
This kitchen produces breakfast and lunch meals for several grade schools. Must have mass food production/transport knowledge. Thorough understanding of USDA and KSDE regulations, and the ability to teach staff. Direct staff in the preparation of food items. Ensure kitchen sanitization, maintain equipment, hold employees accountable and provide positive leadership.
Regularly measure and evaluate service levels with student feedback and develop plans for continuous improvement. Drive cafeteria profitability by ensuring excellent service, executing marketing techniques, and reducing loss. Commitment to coaching and developing school kitchen team.

Conditions of employment: 9-month employment. 8 hours per day.
Qualifications: HS or equivalent is required. Degree in business management or hospitality is preferred. At least two years of successful restaurant management experience is required. The preferred candidate must posess positive people management skills, advanced skills in verbal communication, excellent customer service skills, proven experience in conflict resolution, and have a high energy level. Additional qualifications are the ability to plan and organize, foster teamwork, give feedback, multi-task, and have experience in budget development. Position require the ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for up to 8 hours.
