Summary
Topcon is seeking a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves FP&A expert who thrives in the details while operating at a strategic level. The ideal candidate has manufacturing FP&A expertise and cost accounting knowledge, combined with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable operational insights. This role requires someone who goes beyond reporting results. The FP&A leader will proactively evaluate cost drivers, challenge assumptions, identify improvement opportunities, and partner with manufacturing and operations to support smart, data-driven decisions that enhance efficiency, scalability, and profitability. This is a senior-level individual contributor role with no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manufacturing and supply chain FP&A activities, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning (LRP) for operations, workforce planning, and capital expenditures
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close analysis, delivering detailed variance reporting and actionable insights
- Provide end-to-end financial planning and performance management support for manufacturing and supply chain operations
- Analyze manufacturing costs, productivity metrics, inventory valuation, and operational performance drivers to support margin improvement
- Partner with supply chain, procurement, production, and cost accounting to evaluate cost drivers and identify productivity and savings opportunities
- Lead financial evaluation of make/buy decisions, capital investments, and operational initiatives
- Develop, maintain, and refine financial models and pro forma analyses aligned to operational strategy and business trends
- Prepare and present monthly financial business reviews to senior leadership
- Serve as the primary FP&A business partner to manufacturing leaders from department managers through SVP level
- Support strategic initiatives and special projects requiring advanced financial modeling and cost analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, MBA desirable but not required
- 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong cost accounting and inventory management knowledge
- Experience working with large, complex data set
- SAP experience preferred
- Experienced working as FP&A SME for manufacturing cost structures and operational driver
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Clear communicator who can translate financial insights into business decision

- Must be able to work a hybrid schedule 3 days onsite, 2 days remote from the Fort Atkinson, WI facility
