Topa Group, Inc. is partnered with an Electrical Contractor focused on Department of Transportation projects in Southern California. We are actively looking to hire a Sr. Project Manager / Project Executive.
About The Role
We are a well-established California DOT electrical contractor based in Anaheim, CA, seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver complex transportation infrastructure projects. This role is focused on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), roadway lighting, traffic signals, and underground electrical work throughout Southern California.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong Caltrans experience, excellent financial and scheduling control, and the ability to manage multiple large-scale public works projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple Caltrans electrical projects from award through completion
- Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Lead project teams including Project Engineers, Superintendents, and subcontractors
- Serve as the primary point of contact with Caltrans, inspectors, and other stakeholders
- Review and manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress billings
- Ensure compliance with Caltrans specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted work
- Drive project performance to meet schedule, budget, and profitability goals
- Support preconstruction efforts, estimating reviews, and project handoffs
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of experience managing Caltrans or public works electrical projects
- Strong background in ITS, traffic signals, roadway lighting, and underground electrical
- Proven ability to manage large-scale DOT projects and multiple crews
- In-depth knowledge of Caltrans standards, specifications, and documentation
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with project management software and scheduling tools
- Valid California driver’s license
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 (DOE)
