Mobile Battery Technician – Roadside Assistance

Top US Auto is seeking reliable and customer-focused Mobile Battery Technicians to join our Roadside Assistance team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, working independently outdoors in various weather conditions, and providing professional battery and roadside services that get drivers safely back on the road.
Compensation: $36,000 – $60,000 per year monthly performance bonuses
Employment Type: Full-time or Contract

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to roadside service calls and perform battery jump-starts, testing, installation, and removal
- Diagnose battery and related vehicle issues and recommend appropriate solutions to customers
- Sell, install, and process battery replacements along with available warranty services
- Perform lock-out services and tire changes in accordance with company procedures
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to keep them informed and ensure their safety throughout the service
- Accurately enter service call information into in-truck technology systems, process payments, handle cash transactions, and complete required reports
- Conduct routine vehicle and equipment inspections to maintain safe operating conditions at all times
- Support additional Top US Auto operational needs as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to successfully pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and company medical screening
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; bend, kneel, balance, and use hand tools while performing services
- Ability to operate passenger vehicles and light-to-medium duty service trucks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to use GPS and mobile technology effectively
- Comfortable engaging in basic product recommendations and battery sales conversations with customers
- Must pass pre-employment and ongoing background screening, including a federal background check
- Previous automotive, mechanical, or customer service/sales experience is preferred but not required
Work Environment: This is a mobile, on-the-road position based in the Hagerstown, MD area and surrounding communities. Technicians work independently in outdoor conditions year-round.
