Position Summary
Top Tree Service LLC is seeking a skilled, motivated, and customer-focused Tree Health Care Technician to join our team. This full-time, on-site position focuses on assessing, protecting, and improving the health of trees and shrubs through inspections, preventative care, and targeted treatments. The technician will identify pests, diseases, and structural concerns, recommend appropriate solutions, perform plant health care applications, and support general tree care operations.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in arboriculture, forestry, landscaping, and plant health care. Applicants without a pesticide applicator license will receive training and support to obtain the required certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess tree and shrub health and identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and structural issues.
- Apply plant health care treatments using foliar sprays, soil injections, trunk injections, fertilizers, and other approved methods.
- Prepare bids, estimates, and recommendations for plant health care services.
- Generate leads, identify opportunities for additional tree care services, and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Represent Top Tree Service with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to quality service.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to learn, follow, and maintain safe tree care and pesticide application practices.
- Foundational knowledge of tree biology, forestry, landscaping, and plant health care is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of common tree pests, diseases, and integrated pest management practices is beneficial.
- Experience with hand tools, power equipment, and arboricultural or landscaping practices preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education, training, or certifications in arboriculture, forestry, landscaping, or related fields are a plus.
- Applicants holding a current Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Commercial Applicator License will receive priority consideration.
Licensing & Training
Applicants who do not currently possess a WSDA Commercial Applicator License will be provided with training and support to obtain the license within 30 days of hire. Employees will receive a pay increase upon successfully passing the WSDA Applicator License examination.
