What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional DSP position at Top Tier Care Supported Living LLC?
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and active Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with disabilities in their home and community. You will be supporting individuals who thrive on routine, respect for their personal privacy, and active community engagement.
Our goal is to foster independence, dignity, and a high quality of life. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable assisting with personal care routines, enjoys going to places like the YMCA, the public libraries or visiting local parks, and can build a strong, trusting rapport with the individuals they support.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Living Assistance: Support participants with daily routines, including meal preparation, household chores, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Personal Care: Provide respectful and dignified assistance with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming routines, ensuring the utmost privacy and comfort for the individuals supported.
- Community Engagement: Accompany and transport participants to appointments, errands, and recreational activities around the Treasure Valley area.
- Health & Safety: Administer medications as prescribed, monitor general health, and respond effectively to any emergencies.
- Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, encouraging social skill development, self-advocacy, and emotional regulation.
- Documentation: Accurately log daily activities, behaviors, and progress in accordance with state and agency regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance (essential for navigating the Boise area).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check through the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Assistance with Medications certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, and physically assist individuals with mobility transfers if needed.
