General Manager – Wholesale / Commodities Operations
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 Bonus
Overview
We are seeking a General Manager with direct experience in wholesale, commodities, or inventory-based trading environments to lead and scale our operations.
This is not a traditional operations role. The ideal candidate understands how inventory moves as a financial asset, how margins are managed across transactions, and how to execute within a high-volume, deal-driven wholesale or trading environment.
The founder will continue to focus on sourcing opportunities and business development. This role is responsible for ensuring the execution, logistics, pricing alignment, and operational infrastructure are in place to support growth.
Candidates without wholesale, commodities, or inventory trading experience will not be considered.
Required Background (Non-Negotiable)
Degree not required. Relevant experience in wholesale/commodities environments is critical.
Direct experience in one or more of the following:
Wholesale distribution
Commodities trading
Inventory-based buying/selling environments
Import/export or international trading
Secondary markets or resale (e.g., liquidation, marketplace, surplus inventory)
Proven experience managing high-volume inventory and multi-party transactions
Strong understanding of pricing, margins, and deal execution in a trading environment
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Logistics
Oversee warehouse operations, inventory flow, and order execution
Manage domestic and international logistics, including suppliers, freight, and delivery timelines
Ensure accurate tracking of high-volume inbound and outbound inventory
Maintain full operational visibility across orders, shipments, and inventory positions
Pricing, Margins & Deal Execution
Support pricing strategy and margin management across transactions
Monitor profitability across inventory purchases and resale activity
Execute operational aspects of deals sourced by leadership
Ensure alignment between cost, pricing, and execution timing
Team Leadership
Lead and manage cross-functional teams including:
Sales operations
- Order management
- Accounting coordination
- Warehouse operations
Build structure, accountability, and performance standards across teams
Support hiring, training, and development as the company scales
Systems & Process Development
Build and implement scalable systems to support inventory and transaction flow
Develop and enforce SOPs across all operational functions
Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to increase speed and accuracy
5–10 years of operations or general management experience
Experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple departments
Strong understanding of logistics, inventory flow, and supply chain operations
Experience working with international suppliers, distributors, or buyers
Highly organized with strong operational discipline
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Compensation
Base Salary: $100,000 – $120,000
