We are hiring a part-time AP Chemistry Tutor to deliver exceptional 1-on-1 in-home tutoring in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia. Sessions are scheduled after school (weekdays, 4-10 PM) and on weekends, providing flexible hours to fit your schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 90-minute private, in-home tutoring sessions for AP Chemistry
- Create customized lesson plans to address individual student needs and learning goals.
- Maintain consistent, positive communication with parents and students to build trust and rapport.
- Collaborate with the Top Score team to track student progress and refine tutoring strategies.
- Provide academic guidance to build students’ confidence and support their success on AP Chemistry exams.
- Proven experience teaching or tutoring AP Chemistry
- Current or former high school teachers or graduate students pursuing a Master’s/Ph.D. in a STEM field are strongly preferred.
- Additional expertise in tutoring STEM subjects (e.g., Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Biology) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or certifications in education/STEM fields preferred.
- Passionate about building positive, supportive relationships with students and families.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management and process adherence.
- Excellent communicator, responsive, and committed to collaborative teamwork.
- Competitive Pay: Starting at $50-$75/hour, with potential to earn up to $85/hour based on experience and tenure.
- Travel Bonus: Additional compensation for travel exceeding 30 minutes to student homes.
