Summary
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting and backing up management of all aspects of the store, including overseeing sales, staff, and inventory.
Key Activities
- Supervise, train, and assist employees, including Graphic Designers and Retail Store Clerks, in customer service, proper equipment use, store maintenance, and product promotions.
- Develop and maintain a schedule for employees and promotions centred on holiday sales and other cycles.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store.
- Ensure staff follow health and safety guidelines.
- Assist customers and successfully resolve customer complaints.
- Seek ways to promote the store, the product line and service within the store.
- Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking, implement purchasing plans and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals.
- Implement cross-training of employees to maintain productivity at all times.
- Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability.
- Ensure the store remains clean and presentable at all times.
- Hire and train as needed to ensure adequate personnel are on hand to provide outstanding customer service.
Preferred Skills
- Outstanding Interpersonal communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong sales and customer service abilities.
Educations & Experience
- 2 years retail sales experience, either as a Manager, Assistant Manager.
- Self-motivated leadership.
- Supervisory experience.
