The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for the Chemicals category, developing, implementing, and optimizing sourcing and procurement strategies. This role will drive improvements in procurement operations, working closely with local and global functions to negotiate contracts, cultivate supplier relationships, manage supplier programs, reduce costs, and improve delivery times while aligning the supply chain with organizational needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform supply market analyses and use sourcing tools to identify qualified suppliers.
- Support RFx processes, lead contract negotiations, and ensure deliverables such as SLAs and savings targets are met.
- Monitor compliance with supplier agreements, internal policies, and procedures.
- Handle invoice and AP reconciliation, assisting in quality issue resolution and SCAR follow-up.
- Manage day-to-day supplier interactions, negotiations, and escalations.
- Create, review, and approve purchase orders within authorized approval limits.
- Draft and manage Scopes of Work (SOWs) covering commercial terms.
- Track contract expirations and alert sourcing managers and stakeholders as needed.
- Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives including supplier governance meetings, scorecards, performance metrics reviews, and tracking action items.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in Procurement or Compliance.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Experience in market research, including analyzing trends and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across local and global teams.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years relevant procurement experience required.
Salary : $65,000 - $90,000
