Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: Torrington, CT

Duration: Direct Hire – Onsite

Salary: $110-140K DOE plus Excellent Benefits

Reporting directly to site leadership, the Quality Manager is a key leadership position responsible for driving quality excellence, continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance across all manufacturing and operational processes at the Torrington, CT facility.

This position will lead and administer the full scope of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring quality objectives are achieved across operations and the extended value chain. The Quality Manager will work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production teams to maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

The position also partners closely with:

• Supply Chain

• Operations Leadership

• Customers and Third-Party Auditors

The Quality Manager is responsible for continued team development, maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory standards, and driving process improvements to reduce defects and improve operational performance.

This position will be a key member of the site leadership team representing the Torrington, CT facility.

Essential Functions

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO, AS, and Nadcap requirements.

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee internal, supplier, customer, and third-party audits.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction, process capability, and operational efficiency.

• Analyze quality and operational data and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership teams.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues, complaints, returns, and corrective actions.

• Ensure proper calibration, metrology, and cleanroom processes are maintained with compliant documentation control systems.

• Lead containment and resolution activities for nonconforming materials and processes.

• Support supplier qualification, raw material quality, production certification, and capital equipment quality requirements.

• Partner with Purchasing and Operations to identify and implement inspection and measurement equipment improvements.

• Develop and oversee training, qualification, and certification programs for inspection personnel.

• Communicate quality risks, trends, and improvement opportunities across the organization.

• Support technology implementation and inspection system improvements tied to quality initiatives.

• Participate in strategic planning and operational improvement projects.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Quality Systems & Compliance

• Maintain and improve certified quality systems including ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.

• Ensure compliance with aerospace manufacturing requirements and applicable customer/regulatory standards.

• Support Nadcap audit preparation and compliance activities.

• Develop and refine procedures to align with corporate and site-level quality objectives.

Manufacturing & Operations Support

• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to improve process capability and reduce variation.

• Support process qualification, validation, and production certification activities.

• Monitor quality KPIs and establish corrective action plans where needed.

• Drive root cause investigations and structured problem-solving initiatives.

Customer & Supplier Quality

• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers regarding quality expectations and performance.

• Address customer complaints and supplier quality concerns in a timely and professional manner.

• Support supplier development and qualification processes.

Leadership & Team Development

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to quality and inspection personnel.

• Identify training gaps and develop employee capabilities.

• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

• Support cross-functional collaboration and communication throughout the organization.

Position Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred

• Equivalent professional experience will be considered

Work Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in Quality Management or Quality Systems leadership

• Experience maintaining certified Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 required; AS9100 preferred)

• Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred

• Experience with audit management, process qualification, and quality system compliance

• Working knowledge of MSA, PFMEA, SPC, and process capability analysis

• Six Sigma or formal problem-solving methodology experience preferred

• Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and reporting/BI tools such as Power BI

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality inspection methodologies

• Experience with NDT methods and automated inspection technologies is a plus

• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
