Overview
Agricultural company. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with expertise in QuickBooks, Excel and financial reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. The Accountant will work collaboratively with other departments, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements.
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations, including balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, production, general operations accounting procedures, identifying and analyzing costs, compliance and auditing.
- Manage regulatory reporting and compliance with federal and state governmental agency's, including OSHA, BOLI, DOT, DEQ, USDA, etc.
- Manage office departments, including front desk staff, human resources, accounts payable, etc.
- Work closely with other departments to efficiently keep the company running smoothly
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Utilize accounting software for efficient financial management.
- Collaborate on tax preparation and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Provide mentoring to junior staff members in technical accounting and office practices to efficiently run all aspects of the company.
- Conduct internal audits and assist in the preparation for external audits as needed.
- Interpret financial reports to provide insights into organizational performance.
- Responsible for accuracy, balancing, and timely posting of all transactions in the books from the bottom up.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, budgeting and financial report writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Self-motivated and driven, organizes, plans and manages time effectively to complete responsibilities
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, Ability to work independently (required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
