Executive Vice President of Lending

Wichita, Kansas Area | Mid-Sized Community Bank | Senior Executive Leadership

Our client is a mid-sized, growth-oriented community bank headquartered in the Wichita area and is aggressively advancing its expansion strategy. With a strong balance sheet, an expanding market presence, and a leadership team committed to building something exceptional, this institution is positioned to become the dominant commercial banking force in their region.

They are seeking an Executive Vice President of Lending to serve as a principal architect of that future: setting strategy, building markets, and leading the entire lending platform. This isn't a production role. Your fingerprints will be on the bank's growth trajectory, its talent, and its reputation in the market.

If you're a relationship-driven executive who builds great teams, commands credibility in the marketplace, and thrives in high-stakes, high-visibility environments, this is your platform.

What You'll Be Doing

Enterprise Strategy & Market Growth

  • Define and execute a forward-looking lending strategy that expands market share, grows revenue, and delivers long-term enterprise value
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board, shaping direction across commercial lending, CRE, C&I, and deposit growth
  • Champion the bank's presence as a visible and influential leader in the Wichita business community and broader marketplace

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing lending organization across all markets
  • Recruit and retain top-tier talent; build a deep leadership bench positioned for sustained growth
  • Establish a culture of accountability, urgency, and execution excellence

Financial Performance & Credit Discipline

  • Own portfolio performance, profitability, and capital deployment, driving results through leadership and coaching, not personal production
  • Maintain strong credit quality and disciplined risk management while aggressively pursuing growth
  • Use data and insights to optimize pricing, returns, and market positioning

What We're Looking For

  • 10 years of progressive lending and credit leadership in a high-performing community or regional bank
  • Proven success scaling commercial lending operations across CRE, C&I, and deposits
  • A market-facing executive with a strong reputation, one who enhances brand presence and builds lasting community relationships
  • Exceptional ability to recruit, develop, and hold accountable a team of high-performing leaders
  • Strategic, financial, and analytical depth, a data-driven decision-maker with board-level presence and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred

Why This Opportunity?

  • Join a well-capitalized, growing institution with real momentum, an expanding footprint, a strong culture, and leadership committed to winning
  • Operate at the highest level of executive leadership with direct influence on enterprise strategy and Board-level decision-making
  • Make a visible, lasting impact on the bank's growth, reputation, and talent
  • Competitive executive compensation with performance-based upside

This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned banking executive ready to lead from the front, build something meaningful, and leave a lasting mark on an institution and a market.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and meet the qualifications listed above to be considered.
