Job Summary

The Reconditioning Technician works at a designated customer location, such as a car dealership, and is responsible for painting vehicle surfaces using spray-painting equipment, performing interior repairs, and utilizing power tools and work aids. This role is mobile, requiring the technician to work collaboratively with a team during assigned shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following list outlines the primary responsibilities for this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Key Functions

  • Maintain the quality standards of service for the Company.
  • Ensure all service tools, equipment, and work aids are functioning, clean, and organized.
  • Inspect panels that require painting for necessary body repairs; prepare and buff defects as needed.
  • Paint vehicle surfaces using spray-painting equipment, power tools, and work aids, applying specific preparation and painting techniques.
  • Sand, mask, blend, and polish paint finishes to match the surrounding areas.
  • Retouch paint as necessary.
  • Perform interior repairs, including leather repair and redyeing.
  • Act as liaison for all work between the dealership and Top Notch.
  • Inspect vehicles requiring repair upon arrival at the dealership.
  • Maintain professional relationships with dealership management.
  • Properly invoice and submit all billing in accordance with Top Notch Policy.
  • Follow up with the dealership to ensure all invoices receive a RO, PO, and signature.
  • Research with the dealership, when necessary, to resolve communication matters.
  • Inspect and audit the Front Line to ensure standards and quality are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Computer Skills

Ability to learn and adapt to changes in field operations software; currently using ReconPro for scanning VIN numbers and invoicing customers.

Certificates and Licenses

Valid State Driver’s License required.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and use hands and arms for the entire working shift.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands or arms for most of the working shift.
  • Ability to walk, climb, or balance as needed during the working shift.
  • Regular, predictable attendance and punctuality required for the full 40-hour work week.
  • Ability to work at an depth perception and peripheral vision, and adjust focus.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Pay: $150.00 - $200.00 per day
