We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Municipal Engineer Project Manager to join our team. This position requires a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Pennsylvania, or the ability to transfer another active PE license from another state. We kindly ask that you do not apply for this position if you do not have your PE License. EIT's will not be considered.
This position requires an extremely technically proficient and results-driven leader who has a solid foundation in municipal engineering as well as project management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering innovative, high-quality solutions that support our municipal clients' infrastructure and planning needs. They will also be skilled in managing and fostering client relationships as well as building relationships with other key partners such as contractors and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project performance and proactively adjust plans to meet objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Provide staff support during vacancies and assist in onboarding and training of municipal personnel.
- Prepare and present progress reports, findings, and recommendations to clients and senior management.
- Plan for and support development of ordinances, zoning policies, utility systems, transportation infrastructure, parks, and other municipal assets.
- Ensure all projects comply with applicable codes, regulations, and best industry practices.
- Participate in evening meetings as necessary.
- Work closely with municipal staff, elected officials, community leaders, and residents to identify challenges and craft effective solutions.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Conduct demographic and environmental research to guide infrastructure and community planning decisions.
- Maintain professional development through continuous learning on emerging industry trends and technologies.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.
- Lead and oversee municipal engineering projects from initial concept through final delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience (internships included).
- Minimum of 4 years of project management experience.
- Proficient in project management software and related tools.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, organization, presentation, and problem-solving.
- Direct experience with municipal planning, including comprehensive plans, ordinance development, and zoning approvals.
- Strong ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders and manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
