Production Supervisor – Mold Department
$60K - $75K with added OT pay 1.5 after 40 hrs.
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor – Mold Department is responsible for leading daily molding operations while ensuring a safe, efficient, and quality-driven production environment. This role directs team members, manages workflow, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with standardized work processes, safety requirements, and production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Promote and maintain a safety-first culture by enforcing safe work practices, PPE requirements, housekeeping standards, and workplace policies.
Implement and maintain standardized work procedures, job cards, and operational standards for team members.
Direct daily molding operations, including workforce coordination, production scheduling, and process execution.
Supervise team members involved in mold making, pouring, finishing, and casting operations.
Monitor materials, equipment, and production processes to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Inspect equipment and production processes for issues; coordinate troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs with maintenance teams.
Train, coach, and develop team members on foundry processes, equipment operation, safety procedures, and standardized work.
Maintain quality standards by monitoring casting processes, identifying defects, and making process adjustments as needed.
Track team member performance, provide coaching, and support corrective actions when expectations are not met.
Coordinate manpower needs, staffing assignments, overtime coverage, and vacation scheduling.
Maintain positive labor relations while following collective bargaining agreement requirements.
Manage shift performance to achieve production targets, quality objectives, and department goals.
Support employee counseling and disciplinary actions when required.
Monitor department expenses and assist in maintaining budget objectives.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency.
Coordinate production start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
Regularly patrol production areas to identify safety concerns, process issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
2 years of manufacturing supervisory experience preferred.
Foundry, molding, casting, or heavy manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to coach, motivate, and develop production teams.
Self-directed with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
