Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog’s breed and owner preferences
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques to ensure both pet and groomer safety during procedures
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests, provide advice on pet coat maintenance, and discuss any health concerns observed during grooming
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and properly stored
- Assist with pet handling duties such as pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and basic veterinary-related tasks when needed
- Support animal care routines by providing gentle handling, ensuring pets are comfortable throughout the grooming process
- Collaborate with team members on kennel duties, pet sitting, and other animal care responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with a strong portfolio of pet styling work
- Knowledge of veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant background is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated ability in dog handling, animal restraint, and animal care techniques including heavy lifting when necessary
- Familiarity with pet nail trimming, animal restraint methods, and general pet grooming procedures
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners confidently and clearly
- Prior kennel experience or pet sitting experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
