Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented EDI Claims Filing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring medical claims are accurately prepared and submitted to insurance payors electronically and via paper, while maintaining compliance with all billing requirements.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely claim submission, error resolution, and reconciliation across billing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and prepare medical claims for submission in accordance with company policies and payor requirements
- Submit claims electronically and manually as needed
- Identify and correct billing and clearinghouse errors to ensure successful claim processing
- Research payor requirements and gather additional documentation to resolve claim issues
- Perform daily reconciliations to ensure all claims are accounted for across billing systems, work queues, and clearinghouses
- Review incoming correspondence and take appropriate action to resolve claim-related issues
- Maintain productivity and quality standards based on departmental goals
- Stay up to date on billing workflows, systems, and tools
- Adhere to company policies, including Code of Conduct and organizational values
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare billing or claims experience (electronic and paper claims preferred)
- Relevant education may be considered in place of experience
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
