SUMMARY: The Maintenance Training Instructor (Instructor) is responsible for delivering technical training to foreign military students (FMS) in accordance with Company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices for the F-16 platform. This role develops and conducts classroom and hands-on training to ensure students receive qualifications, and are current and proficient in maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and compliance requirements. The instructor also evaluates student performance, updates training materials, and supports continuous improvement of the maintenance training program. Top Aces Corp. is looking to fill this instructor role with a candidate who has a specialty in Egress, Avionics, or Crew Chief.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct formal classroom academic instruction.
- Develop formal classroom courseware to ISD standards to ensure program training objectives, standards, and procedures are understood.
- Ensure technical data is followed during each hands-on evaluation.
- Train, monitor and evaluate F-16 maintenance students on maintenance actions performed, inspection of aircraft and equipment condition for safety, compliance with technical directives, and maintenance directives.
- Provide immediate personalized instruction, as necessary.
- Ensure all students comply with and demonstrate Company workplace and aviation maintenance safety practices.
- Provide critical feedback on the effectiveness of training programs to the Maintenance Training Management.
- Assist management with oversight and monitoring of student performance.
- Ensure personnel and students follow OSHA and OH&S requirements, have access to and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate, accessibility to safety systems, and properly maintained tools.
- Accountable for ensuring implemented processes are producing the expected outcomes as outlined in the training manual.
- Accountable for monitoring the implementation of corrective actions and ensuring timely and effective resolution when required.
- Maintain compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and USAF Technical Orders.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
- F-16 Aviation experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Adaptability to listen, analyze, and convey information in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
- Proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work cohesively with internal and external customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Maintenance Training Instructor in daily work performance.
- Must be able to work in various weather environments and conditions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- FAA A&P Certificate preferred.
- FAA Inspection Authorization Certificate preferred.
- "T" coded maintenance instructors preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
- Maintenance Instructor experience preferred but not mandatory
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance instruction preferred.
- F-16 7-Level experience in one of the following USAF specialties: Crew Chief, Structures, Avionics, Electrical & Environmental, Fuels, and Engines.
- Experience working with international customers with limited English proficiencies a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Maintenance Training Instructor must be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, talk, walk, hear, see, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This role is performed around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock.
