Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Biller to join the administrative team at our private practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance claim procedures and how to understand an explanation of benefits as given from the insurance company. As a Healthcare Biller, you will be responsible for accurately submitting claims, managing accounts receivable, handling claim denials and appeals and ensuring timely reimbursement for healthcare services. Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using electronic billing systems.
- Answer patient calls regarding billing concerns
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients to facilitate medical collections.
- Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
- Reconcile accounts receivable, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to optimize revenue cycle management.
- Stay updated on changes in coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with office staff to verify patient information, insurance details, and ensure accurate data entry in medical records.
- Assist in training new staff members on billing procedures, coding practices, and system usage.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Experience in handling collections and resolving billing disputes efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex medical data accurately.
- Prior experience working in a medical or dental office environment is preferred; certification in medical billing or coding is a plus.
