Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including oral examinations, medical history reviews, and dental imaging to develop accurate diagnoses.
- Deliver a broad spectrum of general dentistry services such as dental cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, and prosthodontics.
- Conduct complex procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), and oral surgery with precision and care.
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols rigorously to maintain a safe clinical environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate treatment plans clearly with patients and team members.
- Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health record systems like OpenDental
- Collaborate with the dental team on patient care strategies, ensuring seamless delivery of services in a fast-paced dental clinic setting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology relevant to dentistry to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
- Adhere to all infection control standards and safety procedures during dental fabrication, endodontic procedures, and other clinical activities.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental wellness.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a busy dental office or clinic environment is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in general dentistry procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery.
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or comparable platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and HIPAA compliance.
- Prior experience performing pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently—working comfortably alongside dental assistants for optimal patient outcomes.
