Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CNC Wire Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) programs to produce complex components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure seamless production workflows, uphold quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CNC wire EDM programs using CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and CAM programming tools.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Set up and operate CNC wire EDM machines, including Fanuc controls, ensuring proper tooling, calibration, and safety procedures are followed.
- Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions.
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to electrical discharge machining processes, tooling wear, or machine performance to minimize downtime.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce waste throughout the machining process.
- Collaborate with design engineers to review CAD models and schematics for manufacturability and suggest improvements for better toolpath strategies.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming for wire EDM machines with Fanuc controls.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and schematics reading.
- Experience with CAM programming for CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Solid understanding of GD&T principles and geometric measurement techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling setup, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and machining operations.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), bore gauges, micrometers, and bore gauges.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately while applying math skills for precise adjustments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and quality in a manufacturing environment.
