Chassis Components Design Release Engineer (DRE)
Job Summary
The Chassis Components Design Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of chassis systems and components including wheels, brakes, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and related assemblies. This role requires strong CAD proficiency, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to work cross‑functionally with suppliers, manufacturing, CAE, and test teams to deliver robust, manufacturable designs that meet performance, cost, quality, and timing requirements.
The DRE will manage multiple component programs simultaneously, apply engineering standards and best practices, and make technical decisions with moderate supervision.
Description:
Requires a BS or MS in engineering. Must be proficient in technical writing and possess computer skills for scientific and technical applications. Must be able to proficiently handle multiple projects and develop analytical procedures. Work with suppliers to assure parts/services are requested appropriately, evaluate technical proposals, and write technical reports. Make technical decisions with moderate supervision. Ability to report research and test results in various technical formats. Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals.
Key Background Requirements:
•Must be able to design and develop Chassis components (wheel, brake, fuel, exhaust, etc).
•Must be able to work with other design and test engineers and suppliers to analyze and resolve technical problems.
•Must be able to handle multiple projects and work with a team to meet development schedules.
•Requires Catia V6 proficiency
•Both Solid and Surface modeling fluency
•Design intent and robust modeling (models can withstand major revision)
•Drawing and GD&T awareness
•Prefer previous Chassis design experience.
•Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
•Ability to pick up new standards and methodologies
•Capability to interpret basic CAE result (stiffness, natural frequency, etc)
