- Assist with routine maintenance and upkeep of school grounds, including mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding
- Perform basic landscaping tasks such as pruning shrubs, flowers, and trees
- Assist in the maintenance of athletic fields and playground areas, including detailed mowing, trimming, replenishing softfall materials, and minor field repairs as directed
- Support irrigation system maintenance and minor repairs under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas by removing debris and litter
- Assist with campus beautification projects, including painting, window cleaning, sidewalk cleaning, and similar tasks
- Support interior maintenance tasks as assigned, which may include painting and cleaning inside school buildings
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and grounds equipment safely and responsibly after appropriate instruction
- Follow all District safety rules, procedures, and guidelines
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate work and complete assignments efficiently
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Grounds Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor
- Must be 18 and have a GED or High School Diploma
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and established work practices
- Willingness to learn new skills and perform a variety of maintenance-related tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned work locations

Job Summary
The Tooele County School District is seeking entry-level, seasonal employees to serve as Temporary Summer Maintenance Crew Members for the 2026 summer season. This position is ideal for individuals who have completed high school or an equivalent program and are interested in gaining hands-on work experience in facilities, grounds, and maintenance operations.
Summer Maintenance Crew Members support the upkeep, safety, and appearance of school buildings and grounds during the summer months. Work is performed under the direction of maintenance and grounds supervisors and contributes to a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and the community.
