    Attendance and Literacy Aide

    Position Purpose
    Under the direct supervision of an administrator, to assist certified professional staff and administration in aiding students to meet attendance and/or behavioral goals. Also, to support administration in implementing the attendance procedure by running reports and sending letters; by creating and implementing academic and behavior support plans; by supporting relationships between staff, students, and parents; and by developing and supporting school wide Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) in Literacy interventions

    Essential Job Functions
    • Clerical support to intervention programs.
    • Organizes student lists for attendance intervention and delivery of intervention letters.
    • Follow up on student and parent completion of interventions.
    • Coordinates with teachers and administrators with the intervention programs for attendance and Literacy.
    Additional Duties:
    • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

    • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
    • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
    • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
    • Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
    • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
    Work Environment
    • Works in standard office and school building environments.

    Qualifications
    A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills for successful job performance will be considered. Required qualifications to work at a Title I schools include:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required (submit diploma or certification within the job application)
    • Title I School Requirement: To work at a Title I school, candidates must meet the Highly Qualified Paraprofessional standard by fulfilling one of the following:
      • Hold an Associate’s degree (if applicable, upload evidence within job application) or;
      • Have completed at least 48 college or university credit hours (if applicable, upload transcript within the job application) or;
      • Successfully pass the MasterTeacher Paraprofessional exams within 3 months of being hired
    • Minimum Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
    *This position is funded by a federal grant, which is a soft funding source. Continuation of the role each school year is contingent on an annual review and ongoing availability of funds.

    FLSA Status: Non-exempt

    Contract:
    29 hours per week, Time card position 177 days per year
    Support Professional Employees Salary Schedule - E1 - 15.85
