Butcher

Tony’s Meat Market of Lindenhurst is looking for an experienced, dependable Butcher / Meat Cutter to join our team.

We are a local butcher shop focused on providing our customers with high-quality meats, great service, and the personalized experience you expect from a neighborhood meat market.

We are currently hiring for part-time and/or full-time positions, with scheduling and compensation based on experience and availability.

Pay:

$18–$25 per hour, based on experience and skill level.

Experienced butchers and meat cutters with a strong background are encouraged to apply. Higher compensation may be available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, portion, and prepare a variety of meats for retail sale
• Prepare steaks, roasts, chops, poultry, ground meats, and other customer orders
• Use butcher knives, saws, grinders, slicers, and other meat-processing equipment safely
• Maintain attractive, well-stocked meat displays
• Provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service
• Prepare custom cuts and special orders based on customer requests
• Properly wrap, label, price, rotate, and store products
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food-safety procedures
• Assist with inventory, receiving, stocking, and general department duties as needed

Qualifications

• Previous butcher, meat-cutting, grocery meat department, or related experience preferred
• Knowledge of different cuts of beef, pork, poultry, and other meats
• Comfortable working with knives, saws, grinders, and meat-cutting equipment
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and attention to detail
• Strong customer-service skills
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
• Ability to lift and handle boxes, meat products, and supplies associated with the position
• Willingness to maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace

Schedule

• Full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Weekday and weekend availability is preferred
• Schedule can be discussed based on availability and experience

Pay Range: $18–$25 per hour based on experience
