JOB SUMMARY:
The Meat Cutter performs various cuts for meat items in constant meat cutting with knife and/or saw machine.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible with stocking merchandise in both the fresh and frozen cases
- Follows established department procedures for receiving incoming shipments
- Product pricing
- Ensures product's quality, protections, accuracy and proper rotation in coolers
- Rewraps meat packages as needed
- Constant meat cutting with knife and/or saw machine
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation requirements
- Ensures great customer service
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent required
- Basic kitchen skills; familiar with food preparation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities required for satisfactory performance.
- Efficiency and expertise in using cutting knives and tools
- Ability to properly communicate with co-workers and customers
- Ability to follow the positions responsibilities and guidelines
- Safe cutting techniques
- Multitasking capabilities
