Tonkin Gladstone Hyundai is experiencing rapid growth, and because of that, we’re interested in adding an Certified Line Technician to our service department. Our Certified Line Technicians make a huge difference in our service department by diagnosing vehicle problems and performing repairs. The ideal candidate would be an individual with prior experience working on Hyundai vehicles or having other vehicle certifications.

Certified Line Technician Responsibilities

• Diagnose automotive problems as they arise
• Conduct inspections, repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical systems, and replace parts
• Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and brake inspections
• Use diagnostic tools and factory software to identify and resolve system faults
• Perform repairs according to Hyundai and manufacturer guidelines
• Ensure quality workmanship and conduct test drives to confirm successful repair
• Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
• Communicate clearly with Service Advisors regarding recommended repairs and time estimates
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the service department runs efficiently
• Mentor and support entry-level and apprentice technicians

Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday work week! (Tuesday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) & (Saturday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Certified Line Technician Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Certified Line Technician or Mechanic (Hyundai or Kia experience preferred)
• Personal tools
• ASE certifications or Hyundai factory certifications are a strong plus
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement

Corporate requirements: Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
