Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients for meal service
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with cooking tasks, ensuring timely and accurate meal assembly
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, equipment, and workstations in accordance with food safety standards
- Handle food items safely during storage, handling, and transportation to prevent contamination
- Assist in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations before and after service shifts
- Follow proper knife skills techniques for slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients efficiently
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing ingredients and assisting with food presentation
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food handling procedures
- Familiarity with knife skills for efficient ingredient preparation
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices in a commercial kitchen
- Experience in meal or food preparation within the food industry is advantageous
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-pressure setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for learning culinary skills and supporting team members in a busy kitchen environment
