Duties
- Install, inspect, and repair low voltage wiring systems including communication lines, security systems, fire alarms, and control panels following industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts and system configurations.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system integrity.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols related to low voltage systems while working on construction sites or industrial facilities.
- Troubleshoot programmable and industrial control systems to optimize operational efficiency.
Skills
- Experience as an electrician with expertise in low voltage systems; fire alarm; access control and AV systems experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of NEC standards for electrical wiring and safety regulations.
- Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for electrical systems.
- Proficient in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills; testing devices like ohmmeters; and specialized equipment for low voltage work.
- Experience working on construction sites.
- Handyman skills experience is a plus for versatile project support.
- Familiarity with low voltage systems and safety procedures related to their installation and maintenance.
