Senior Precision Machining Technologist – Medical Devices Join TOMZ and help build components that power breakthrough Medical Devices. We’re a high-precision manufacturer specializing in metal machining, finishing, assembly, and anodizing. In this senior role, you’ll be the go-to expert for Swiss machining set-ups, multiaxis production, and rigorous inspection in a regulated environment. Why this role Own complex set-ups and stabilize production with minimal support.Shape a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and delivery.Coach junior machinists and collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, and QA. Core responsibilities Operate: Citizen and Tsugami Swiss lathes; Index multi-spindle lathes; 3-, 4-, and 5-axis equipment including Robo Drills, mill-turn platforms, and horizontal/vertical mills.Set up: legacy components and new production orders for steady throughput.Optimize: perform offsets and tool changes to maintain efficiency and capability.Inspect: verify to print using microscopes, micrometers, calipers, pin/thread gauges, comparators, Micro-Hite, CMM, and vision systems.Document: maintain ISO 13485-compliant records; complete inspection docs; manage traceability in ERP and QMS.Control: ensure identification and traceability for conforming and nonconforming materials.Maintain: conduct scheduled and routine preventive maintenance.Improve: drive root cause and corrective actions for machine/process issues; promote GDP/GMP best practices.Lead: mentor/train lower-level machinists; uphold the TOMZ Quality Management System and safety/PPE standards. Qualifications 3–7 years in a regulated manufacturing environment.Experience with Class I/II/III medical devices using calibrated equipment and hazardous materials.Industry background in aerospace, defense, or automotive is beneficial.Knowledge of GMP/ISO and ISO 13485; advanced understanding of machine usage, care, and inspection processes.Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and procedures; intermediate GD&T.Hands-on with hand tools for preventive maintenance, repairs, and tool changes.Detail-driven, organized, and adept at identifying nonconformances.Self-directed team player able to collaborate across R&D, Manufacturing, and QA; strong English communication skills. Education Technical school certification or equivalent directly transferable experience in manufacturing/engineering.Certification strongly preferred. Work environment Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.PPE may be required: dust masks, ear plugs, cut-resistant or chemical-resistant gloves; engineering controls as needed.
Salary : $28 - $42
