What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Finishing Technician — Medical Device Components position at TOMZ Manufacturing Corp?
Shape the final edge of life-changing parts
At TOMZ, we manufacture precision components for medical devices through advanced machining, finishing, assembly, and anodize processes. As a Precision Finishing Technician, you’ll be the last set of hands ensuring each machined part is safe, clean, and ready for its next step. Reporting to the cell lead, you will remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material using a variety of hand and power tools, all while maintaining documentation aligned to ISO 13485.
A day in the life
You start by reviewing work orders and prints from your cell lead. You select the right tooling, set up bead blast or tumbling equipment as needed, and carefully finish small, delicate components. Throughout the day, you verify conformity using calipers, micrometers, and gauges, record results per quality procedures, and collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve any nonconformances—all while keeping pace with production goals.
