Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive General Manager to lead our business operations. The ideal candidate will oversee sales, customer service, inventory management, and team leadership to ensure exceptional performance and growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication skills, a background in automotive parts & service sales, and proficiency in sales management tools. The Automotive General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving revenue through effective sales strategies, high-end B2B and retail sales, and maintaining excellent customer relationships. The ideal candidate must have experience with all makes automotive gas/diesel (pickups) and or Medium Duty. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record for business development and growth.
Duties
- Lead and manage all dealership departments, including sales, service, and parts to achieve business objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans focusing on outside sales, B2B sales, upselling, and very high quality vehicle service repair.
- Conduct negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners to maximize profitability while maintaining positive relationships.
- Manage inventory control and inventory management processes to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
- Lead marketing initiatives including outreach efforts like cold calling, outbound sales campaigns, and public speaking engagements to promote business offerings.
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring staff adhere to phone etiquette, communication standards, and professional conduct.
- Support the development of the sales/service team through coaching on retail math, organizational skills, and effective sales techniques such as upselling and cross-selling.
- Monitor dealership performance metrics regularly; prepare reports on sales activities, market trends, and customer feedback for executive review.
- Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven track record in automotive parts and service management.
- Extensive experience with B2B sales, retail sales, and business growth/retention.
- Strong background in negotiation, inventory management, and service marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with dealership operations including inventory control, retail math calculations, and organizational skills necessary for high-volume environments. Pay: $50,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
