Overview: Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the efficient and accurate paying and receiving function as well as support the consumer sales and service function of the branches according to bank policies and procedures; coordinate work within the unit, as well as with other units and/or departments; report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; respond to inquiries or requests for information; develop a weekly sales plan and tactics to achieve sales results. Responsibilities:
  • Travel between branches to support the teller line and/or platform when staffing levels are below standard.
  • Greet and assist each customer in a friendly and courteous manner.


Serve bank customers at an assigned teller station by processing a variety of transactions quickly and accurately, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Accept and process deposit transactions.
  • Cash checks and process withdrawal transactions within approved authority and operating policy, ensuring proper identification is obtained to verify sufficient funds are available.
  • Accept and process utility payments, all types of loan payments, credit card payments, and other related payments.
  • Sell Official Checks and Money Orders.
  • Redeem Savings Bonds.
  • Issue approved cash advances on Bank accepted credit cards.
  • Transfer funds between accounts as required.
  • Prepare daily settlement and proof of cash transactions; balances cash drawer accurately, quickly and efficiently on a daily basis.
  • Prepare daily work for delivery to the Proof Department.
  • Balance general ledger and demand deposit account to the paying and receiving function.
  • Prepare and review reports relating to the function, e.g. Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), Bank Secrecy Reports, etc.
  • Process night deposit, mail deposit, ATM deposit and courier deposit transactions.
  • Maintain an approved level of cash, sell excess cash and/or mutilated cash when appropriate.
  • Balance and/or service ATM machines when necessary.
  • If necessary, team members may be required to float to other branches to meet business needs


Perform a variety of duties to support the consumer service functions of the branch of which the following are illustrative:

  • Complete the documentation and performs point-of-sale processing on all types of new accounts, e.g. loans, deposits, etc.
  • Provide support to branch customer service personnel engaged in establishing quantitative customer service and sales objectives on an annual basis as warranted.
  • Provide assistance, as requested, to branch customer service personnel involved in soliciting new business from present and prospective customers.
  • Provide customer service information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of monthly and year-to-date performance reports.
  • Serve as a member of the branch sales team with shared responsibility for reaching branch sales goals and full responsibility for meeting individual sales goals.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to participate in selling in conjunction with these needs. o Provide direct services to customers of the Bank with respect to deposit products and services.
  • Assist customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary.
  • Maintain an awareness of new business opportunities with customers.
  • Keep abreast of new products and rate information. Communicate with the unit supervisor(s), and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate activities.
  • Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit as well as with other units and/or departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  • Work Saturdays and evenings as required; open and close the branch as required.
  • Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requests, or according to an established schedule.
Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a cash handling and/or customer service position is normally required, with some experience as a Customer Service Representative.
  • Active Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration, or the ability to secure registration upon hire, and is contingent upon successful completion of a credit report review as part of the process.
  • Moderate reading, writing and grammar skills, proficient accounting, analytical and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient PC skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative and sales skills.
