What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deposit Operations Specialist I position at Tompkins Community Bank?
This position is expected to perform specialized operational duties and complex functions associated with deposit products. Review and verify data and reports. Maintain data integrity. Perform various exception item handling duties relating to general ledger and customer deposit accounts. Maintain a thorough understanding of the various systems used in the Deposit Operations Department. Provide support and assistance to Retail personnel concerning functions performed in Deposit Operations.
Responsibilities
- This position will be held responsible for account verification; process time deposit and escrow interest checks; make Reg E and Reg D changes to accounts; execute the collection process for Canadian checks; process True Advantage changes upon request; process unposted transactions.
- Responsible for review of check alerts in Fraud Alert system.
- Monitor time deposits and rate changes; W-8’s; delinquent safe deposit boxes; Deluxe alert notifications; report for adherence to policy and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate delinquent safe deposit notifications and drilling with retail offices.
- Perform maintenance on time deposit accounts.
- Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, both of which may be altered and re-designed depending upon the department's needs or individual circumstances.
- Assist with maintaining current written procedures for all assigned duties.
- Assist the team as needed.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. An Associate’s degree in business related field or equivalent in experience is preferred.
Previous experience with Bank Regulatory reporting requirements is preferred.
Knowledge of banking systems and prior operational experience is preferred.
Talent in analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills.
Efficient use of technology, ability to type with speed and accuracy.
Skilled in using Microsoft Office products and Internet/Browser based.
Moderate report writing capabilities.
