Responsibilities
- Diagnose issues with small engines, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other outdoor power equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance on small engines, generators, and related machinery using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to accurately troubleshoot problems
- Test repaired equipment for proper operation and safety before returning it to customers
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic procedures followed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dealership or service technician roles specializing in small engine repair or similar fields
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in outdoor power equipment repair, generator repair, and electrical systems
- Experience reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting tasks
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Certifications related to small engine and outdoor power equipment repair are a plus but not required
